Dr. Safarian is not just an excellent dentist, he is a psychologist and artist. Because of fear, I had not been to a dentist for 15 years. I found him after searching the internet for a sedation dentist. Skeptical, I made an appointment as I had pulled out an old filling while flossing. In addition to noticing that most of my teeth were rotted during the initial exam, he noticed that I had permanent damage on the left side of my face from a bout with Bell's Palsy three years ago. I told him I could not chew or taste on the left side of my mouth. He suggested a treatment plan and introduced me to, what I call, the "magic pill" that ultimately helped me overcome my fear of the dentist. My teeth are now healthy, I can chew on the left side of my mouth, some of my taste has returned, I smile everyday, my confidence professionally has increased, and I'm no longer afraid to visit "the dentist". The entire staff is friendly, courteious, supportive, and professional. You are not alone when you are there. Everyone stives to achieve the ultimate goal.

Because of many problems with dentists in the past, I had not been
to see a dentist in over 20 years and believed them responsible for
the many problems I had with my teeth. My teeth were so bad that I
had to practice smiling with my mouth closed. I had constant headaches,
which my MD diagnosed as “sinus headaches” but thought
it possible that some of the headaches might be caused by severe tooth
decay. I used headache mediation daily.
That’s where I was when I first went to see Dr. Safarian. Because of
my attitude toward dentist was so completely negative, he had a lot to overcome.
During the early examinations he was very careful to make sure I understood
what was required. He took a lot of time (never pushy) to explain the procedures
and subsequent benefits. Because I am over 70 years old, I thought it was
waste to go to the trouble and spend time and money on myself at this late
stage. Due to his patience and dental skills, Dr. Safarian proved me wrong
in many ways, I have not had a “sinus headache” in over a year
now and I have learned to smile all over again. Simply being able to smile
openly and meaningfully can add years to your life. However, more importantly,
although I do not know how many health problems can be blamed on poor teeth,
I do know that my overall health has improved significantly. Without a doubt,
this adventure with Dr. Safarian has change my life and helped to make my
senior years much more enjoyable.

What a relief it is to smile again without being self conscious about my teeth! I first met Dr. Safarian because of a sudden toothache while away from home. On examination he immediately noticed a faulty bite which no one had ever mentioned even though I have not missed a six-month dental check-up in years. Once this problem was corrected, we began to address the appearance of my teeth. Up until a few years ago I had always had pretty teeth but with age they became discolored and worn down which I first noticed in photos of myself. Consequently this caused me to avoid showing my teeth when smiling. Now my old smile is back and what a difference it's made in how I feel about myself. The whole procedure was surprisingly pleasant and even fun! Dr. Safarian and his outstanding staff made it so easy and convenient too, which was important to me as each appointment meant traveling an considerable distance. It was worth it--and I even look forward to dental appointments!

Dr. Safarian and his outstanding team have made my life easier. I have had a fear of dentists since i was 10 years old. Due to this fear, I had gone 20 years without seeing a dentist. I had some bridgework that was done while I was in the Marine Corps at least 25 years ago. When I started getting sinus pains near the teeth that anchored that bridge, I was certain I needed to see a dentist. Still having that same old fear, I forced myself to go, expecting the "dark, threatening" dentist office of my childhood.
What a surprise! Dr. Safarian and his team were very pleasant, informative and understanding. When I explained my fear of dentists, Dr. Safarian recommended sedation to get started. Well that worked great for me! We used sedation for just my first two visits and then I was fine (what had I been afraid of all those years?). After the initial work was completed to adjust my bite and perform a bone grafting procedure under my bridgework, Dr. Safarian and i began talking about what I really wanted my smile to look like. I was amazed at the options available these days. I have always been self-conscious of my "ugly" smile but realized that the job market was getting more and more competitive so I needed every edge I could get. So I really had a practical reason for improving my smile. At least that is how I convinced myself.
Dr. Safarian and his team led me through the entire process of full-mouth reconstruction. They have always been professional, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. And my new smile has put me at ease and raised my self-confidence to new levels. So much so, that I have gotten two promotions in the past 15 months! Now that was a good investment. By the way this letter is being written over 2 years after my reconstruction was completed.
Thanks to you, Dr. Safarian and all your team members.

Okay,
You probably don't care that I have never ever written any type of letter of recomendation before, but you are still reading so why stop now, you've committed. Here is the scoop, the truth of the matter I was, for years, very self conscious of my smile. As a kid I had literally fallen on my face more than a nmber of times, HEY BE NICE, and as a result broken my front teeth. That coupled with years of smoking, drinking, coffee and anything else you had left my smile in a sad state. I was to the point the last few years of putting my hand in front of my mouth when I laughed, and had given up several social invitations, it just was not me. But a stint in the Marine Corps where "literally" I had to ask a young new dentist if his knee did really belong in my chest, left me with very few choices, I thought.
I decided that everything had to change. I had passed by a dentist's office numerous times but there was just something about that day where I picked up the phone. Making the appointment was one of the hardest things I had ever done, I knew it was going to be a long, painful, torturous road but I had run out of options.
Being in the technology field one would think that I might have had a moment of pause and thought "Maybe technology has advanced so this won't be painful and torturous". No would be the answer to that question. Had I been outfitted with a heart monitor my first appointment, I am sure the paramedics would have arrived in short order.
My experience from the first appointment to the writing of this letter has been completely pain free. And let me tell you, at this point, I have had it ALL done. Cavities, four wisdom teeth removed, two baby teeth removed, two root canals and jaw realigned by molded teeth over my lowers over the course of 9 months.
How could this be you ask, well I have to give credit where credit is due. Dr. Safarian and his staff are the kindest most considerate, thoughtful, diligent and yes pretty people I have ever had the opportunity to meet, anywhere. Because they are always cognizant of the person in the chair, they are always checking to see if you are comfortable and ensuring their equipment does not hurt or distress you. That and never once did I have to ask anyone to remove their knee from my chest.
The results; WOW, this is the smile I should have always had. Its like I have a new lease on my life is the truth, not to be so shallow but honestly I am aughing and joking and let me just say that my social life is very busy. Also, being in sales I have always been very successful in my field, but now I get to laugh and have fun and business is booming. As if that were not enough, I have noticed a significant difference in the ease at which I breath both at rest and while working out. Yep, part of the new me is training for Triathlons! So if you see a top Tri-athlete out on the road training for his next race and he flashes you a brilliant, irresistible smile, pull over and cheer "Dr. Safarian gives great smiles" and I'll high five yah as I speed on by!
Great Life-Great Smile!
