Sedation Dentistry

Oral sedation can help patients in three primary categories:

• those who experience dental anxiety or dental phobia
• those who do not respond well to traditional numbing agents
• those who need extensive or multiple procedures completed in one visit

Dr. Safarian is certified in oral sedation administration. He can prescribe an anxiety-reducing pill for you to take prior to your dental appointment. You'll feel relaxed and comfortable during while he performs treatment. Please note that you will need a driver to and from your visit because patients should not drive under the influence of a sedative. Effects should subside by the following day, and you can then return to normal activities. Some patients have little, if any, memory of the previous day's dental procedure.
