What is it? This highly-specialized device represents the pinnacle of diagnostic technology, and is used in Neuromuscular Dental procedures. The K7 Evaluation System is used in conjunction with the BNS 40, and is a computer that analyzes the way your jaws move, reads muscle activity levels of your facial and jaw muscles, and identifies noises from your jaw joints. How does it help? It helps me identify if patients have a bad bite (particularly in pain patients). It is amazing to show people how ‘unhappy’ their muscles are in their current bite position. It helps me find a precise point where your muscles can be relaxed, ‘happy’, and thus find a jaw position that provides maximum comfort. Being in this new jaw position might keep you from grinding, having migraines, breaking teeth, having neck or other muscle pain, halt ringing of the ears, stop vertigo (dizziness), and may eliminate TMJ pain. Combining the BNS40 and the K7 computers allows me to get great results through Neuromuscular Aesthetic Dentistry.
